Triumph Toledo window/door rubbers removal and re fit?

#1 Post by Glynn »

Hi, Ive been restoring a Triumph Toledo 1300 for the past year and finally got the body shell in primer. I have the doors ready to prime but I need the window rubbers and quarter light removed, or atleast the quarter light rubbers. I need a full rubber set for the car aswell as they are all perished. Does anybody know how to remove the rubbers? and if so where to buy them and how to refit?

Also ive took the door rubbers off, is there a special tool to refit them?
Cheers
Glynn.

I use a plastic dibber to push the rubber seal in, one side you locate in the slot and the other side you push in with the dibber

it takes a long time for each door, about an hour based on my experience.

the felt seals where the windows slide up and down just pull out.

Quarter light rubbers are NLA and resourcing them doesn't look promising at the moment. Also, to remove the rubber, the rivet holding the top fixing to the frame has to be removed - violently! These rivets are also NLA! Take out the entire quarterlight assembly by removing screws inside the door and drilling out the 2 pop rivets concealed behind the rubber door surround on the angled front face of the frame.
