#1 Post by new to this »

Hi has any one got any photos of repairs to jacking points for reference, also the rear step by the D post, mines rusted away  i assume the step is the same width all the way along
Is the jacking point attached to the sill step and rear arch

Have a browse of the resto threads to see how jacking points are done...

There is also a recent thread here about KRJ IIRC?

I do not have any photos of repairs but I do have photos of the original panels, see below, are these the images you need?

The jacking points were originally spot welded to the inner sill, and the inner wheel arch is welded to the flange on the end of the inner sill. Do not forget that the jacking point also consists of not only the external jacking point but also the internal reinforcing on the inner sill. The sill membrane that sits between the inner and outer sills, this can just be seen in picture 4 sitting on top of the inner sill needs to be in good shape also.

My third photo shows a 4 door outer sill directly from above (Toledo two door sills differ slightly in this area) the outer step is fairly consistent (at the bottom of the panel), the inner section (at the top) tapers. It's probably best to check the fit of the cill using your doors to ensure it lines up correctly before welding to much. Additionally the outer sill continues under the D post.

Hope this helps.
