Hi Members
It would appear that there are no new Dolomite Sprint curved timing chain guides available in either Australia or UK and I was wondering if the timing chain that I have is still serviceable [see attached photo].
It appears to be in good condition with no cracking except for the wear grooves that are approximately 1mm deep
Alternatively does anybody know what the material is that is bonded to the curved metal and would it be possible to bond a new piece of material to the existing metal in the same way they bond drum brake pads to metal shoes
Any help or advice would be appreciated
Ouch this is not good news.....I was not aware of a curved guide supply issue.
I would say some slight wear grooves in the curved guide is okay - 1mm doesnt sound too bad. How many miles had it done? I reckon on doing the lot at about 80k miles, but some do more...
I am sure the curved guide supply issue will be resolved by the club in due course. TR7 stag and 1850 all use the simplex chain so as has
been said already the Sprint guides are unique to the Sprint.
