The Later version has a larger volume water jacket, a bit of extra reinforcing around the exhaust port and a number 2 cast in the front of the head and above the right-hand inlet port next to a large AM roundel. If I remember right there's something about spring seat height difference as well, but can't quite recall the exact details.
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)

Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

We talking 1850 slant 4 heads here?

If so the early ones have a slot under the inlet ports for 3 and 4 pots. Also a change in IIRC the inlet valve size? Later ones are slightly larger.

I'd assumed Sprint as they asked about a Sprint cam previously, but we all know about assumptions being the mother of all... ;)
