1300fwd gearbox overhaul

#1 Post by grahamc »

Hi does anybody know of a gearbox specialist in the north west who could repair the gearbox in my 1300?

At anything above walking pace changing into second gear is a non-starter, which is fine on early morning sunday drives but not so good if the traffic is busier and there are gaps in the traffic that i can't pull out into as it's either pull away in second; or thrash the spuds off it and go from first to third

I think the synchro has finally given up at a mere 98000 miles....

Cheers Graham

In the Midlands is Mike Papworth.

Might be worth having a look at the manual, I've a suspicion that 2nd gear syncro can be changed without taking the box out of the car, working through the back cover.
