Off to get the eBay Sprint...

#1 Post by USASPRINTMAN »

...Well, this could be an adventure. I'm off soon to Chicago to pick up the eBay Sprint and drive it home to Detroit, some 297 miles.

Reminds me of a few lines from The Blue Brothers:

Elwood: It's a 106 miles to Chicago. We got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark and we're wearing sunglasses.
Jake: Hit it!

Wish me luck...

I drove a bit over 200 miles back in mine when I went to pick up my sprint. I was driving along, minding my own business, and wondering why everybody was going so slowly. I then looked at the speedo and a big grin came across my face. Happy days... 8)

I guess if the new Sprint turns out to be total rubbish, I could trade it for a microphone!

Jake: What's this?
ELWOOD: What?
JAKE: This car. . .this stupid car. . . our Cadillac ... ? The lighter doesn't work. Jake tosses it to the -floor.
JAKE: The Caddy...where's the Caddy?
ELWOOD: The what?
JAKE: The Cadillac we used to have .... The Bluesmobile!?
ELWOOD: I traded it.
JAKE: You traded it?! you traded the Bluesmobile for this?!
ELWOOD: No ... for a microphone.
JAKE: A microphone!
(considers a moment)
Okay, I can see that, but what the hell is this?
ELWOOD: It's a bargain. I picked it up at the Mt. Prospect City Police auction last spring. It's an old Mt. Prospect Police car.
JAKE: Thanks a lot, pal. The day I get out of prison and my own brother picks me up in a police car.

Ahhhh, I'd forgotten. Great lines, great film. I love the penguin bit best, oh and the bit in the church with the ray of sunlight. Class.
