Is there a more elegant alternative for the heater fan resistor?
I assume it is there to give two fan speeds, but it seems like a bit of an afterthought. At the very least, is there any reason why it cannot be hidden behind the dashboard or bulkhead?

they are better exposed as they get very warm

Get a PWM module, preset it to whatever second speed you want and then place instead of the resistor. Need to be able to handle the current of the blower fan, 10amp might do but best to measure the current draw, e.g. https://www.amazon.co.uk/12V-40V-Motor- ... B007TH4EN6
Edit: A 20A one https://www.amazon.co.uk/uniquegoods-Co ... ds=pwm+20a - and of course you could put the module in the car and have a speed dial for the fan if you wanted!

Re: Heater fan resistor
Thank you both. I may well go for one of those PWM thingys.
