Hi Ian,

First, there are two Dolomite owners in BC; Doug Unia, who posts under VanIsle Sprint lives on the Island, and Denis Thomson, who's site name escapes me for a while, lives in Vancouver itself; both have Sprints.

Secondly, yes, as you describe should see the UJ removed. The rubber washers are available in Polybush material from Chris Witor:

Oh, and welcome by the way!

If you are minded to become a paid up member, Chris offers 10-15% discount to club members.

I have a 1969 Triumph 1300 FWD, which as you will know has some similarities to the Dolomite.
Welcome to the forum.

There is a fair degree of interchangeable parts within the Triumph range (and other makes too),
however some 1300 fwd parts are unique to this model.

In the case of the lower coupling bushes, you may be able to source these somewhere in Canada or the USA
because some of the "small chassis" Triumphs (Spitfires, Vitesses, etc) have the same coupling.
However,
if you can afford the time to wait for delivery I advise you choose the Superflex from Chris Witor, these last much longer than the original rubber type.

Replace the steering column bulkhead bush too while the coupling is being sorted, unless it has already been replaced with a poly one.
