Mother looked at a mini like that, it was (like the Maxi may well be as they were popular hire cars in the CI) an earlier car, 1974 ex-hire from Jersey which meant that it hadn't seen any long runs so was smokey at a mere 2,000 miles as the poor thing probably had bores you could have bobsleighed on and the boot was full of sand. It was on a then new, 1979 V plate but obviously cheaper than the new one she eventually bought. Rust free though, since they tend not to drive into the sea as often as people do around here.
Thank Goodness for the introduction of age-related plates, which makes it harder to hide the true age of a car at fust glance.

Hello from Malta, 🇲🇹 ...I just recently purchased this same vehicle which was bought not long ago by a friend of mine from the first owner. It's a survivor car and all original (except the tires.!) In the logbook the car is described as having the color ' Gold ' ; and as described by my previous owner friend, it's a unique color to this model being Harvest Gold built by the Car Assembly Malta division. It's interior is black ... it needs a new Servo and would appreciate any advice/ links on the best option for a replacement unit. Kindly also inform me of what other model shares the same spares (i.e.: Dolomite ?) Let's keep these cars on the road and appreciate them as they were meant to be ! Have always admired the looks of the 1300 and there is something charming about owning this model. Thanking you in advance for your help/ comments/ suggestions. One final question the meaning of Any CKD ? Take care everyone.

CKD is "Completely Knocked Down", in other words, the car was sent as a bare shell and a kit of bits to be assembled in the destination country. It was a political "offset" to put a bit more of the production in wherever it was assembled and also a "get around" on import restrictions and taxes.

Steve

And congratulations on buying the Toledo, it looks like a nice straight car! FWIW, i'm in the Harvest Gold camp!

I did see that Rimmer Bros are expecting a delivery of 1300 servos. Not sure if they are identical though.

Hello to All from Malta; I now own this Toledo in your photograph and in its Logbook, it's color is listed as being "Gold" , so I suppose it's Harvest Gold. It's s 1974 Malta Car Assembly car, still a survivor and unrestored to this day...thanks for your interest. Any questions I would be glad to answer...

My four-door, 1974 Triumph Toledo 1300 (registered mid-November 1974) was originally Mimosa yellow all over, but at various stages since my family bought it in May 1975, some of the panels or sections of panels have been painted black.

I cannot recall seeing any other Mimosa yellow Triumph Toledo and my present colour scheme is probably unique.

I reckon that "gold" colour is called limeflower. A lot of BL cars were that colour at that time, often mistaken for harvest gold. You see it on Maxis, & Morris 1300s on L, M and N registration plates. Not the most appealing colour IMO but they sold plenty in it.
