Sprint Clutch Master Cylinder?

#1 Post by DavePoth »

Hello all!

Quick question - what are people doing for Sprint clutch master cylinders these days? The one I have is going to take hours and hours of work to get operating and pretty again, and I'm quite lazy! I can't seem to work out what the correct one to buy.

I used a new (circa £30) Wilwood 0.625" master cylinder, drilled and tapped the 3/8" outlet for the larger Dolomite 7/16" UNF pipe to maintain pedal feel.

Eg. http://www.rallydesign.co.uk/product_in ... ts_id=4046
Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)

Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

Or send your's to me as an exchange with payment of £85 and get an original sleeved in stainless steel and resealed.

Yes, I know more than twice the price, I wasn't going to get them done on that basis, but I was asked to so had a limited batch done and they've proven popular since as I've had to restock twice!.

A few years ago my clutch master cylinder died. My local garage confirmed that a master cylinder for a Land Rover Series 2/2A (part number 90569126) works perfectly, just needs an adapter to reduce (?) the thread size at the hydraulic outlet.

If this is of interest, I can provide pictures of the original and replacement master cylinders.

Regards,
