Ident Plates (under the Bonnet)

I have two ident plates under the bonnet, nearside inner wing.

The Vin Plate which I understand - but there is a another one by the side which has a number stamp into it mine is 081557WD does any body know what this No.s represents

It is the body number, used to identify the shell prior to a specific model being allocated to it.
