I have now sent the family just over £2,500* in cheques and postal orders, which has greatly surprised them; they had no idea Jon's accumulated 'rubbish' had any value whatsoever. They have decided to donate all money raised to Jon & Liz's daughter's Church in Oxford; they have an expanding congregation and have recently purchased a building to move into. The funds will be used towards the cost of converting the building for their use, and the family and congregation are very grateful for your collective generosity.
*those of you who can add up will know this is less than the total currently pledged, so those of you who have yet to send me payments, please do so without further delay!
