please can anyone recommend an insurer for my 1500 which will only be doing less than 1000miles per week

I take it you mean 1000miles per anum? Try Peter James, 0121 506 6040. I pay £121 per year for 2 cars with no mileage limit.

It probably happened occasionally back in the days when Dolomites were current and a few 1500s have completed the RBRR which is almost 2000 miles in 48 hours! Maybe not as hard as everyone thinks, though I fancy annual engine rebuilds would be de rigeur!
