Winscreen repairs

#1 Post by alangraham »

My 1500HL (1980 - W reg) passed its MOT yesterday with a comment about a small stonechip repair required in the front windscreen. I assume it's a triplex 10-20 windscreen (though there's no sticker any more to confirm) and if it is a 10-20 can it be repaired? It's about 10mm wide - in a cross-hairs type pattern.

It should be repairable, though depends on the severity. Most windscreen repairers will warn of the possibility of total failure during repair so be warned. However in my experience windscreen repairs are a good way of avoiding a total replacement which on a Dolly with the seal type screen has got to be a good thing.

I have used one of these with great success :D Just follow instructions and be carefull as some screen repairers are not. 3 years now and no problem.
