fuel pump change
fuel pump change
got a new fuel pump and hoses. how can i best prevent fuel from going all over the place when changing the pump? thanks

When you take the pipe off the line to the tank, use an old piece of hose with a suitable sized bolt stuffed in the end to stop it leaking. Renew all the hoses and pump and when you get to that stage, fit the new hose to the fuel line to pump with a brake pipe clamp on it, putting it on tank side first after pulling the piece with the bolt in it off. Dont forget to have the new clips in place ready to tighten up after. Job done
(hopefully)
You cant avoid spilling some fuel so have a tray underneath.

Just to add, if you take off feed pipe first and blank it as mentioned, run the car for a minute or so to get rid of the excess fuel in the pipe to the carb

These are great for clamping anything rubber without damage. You could use mole grips, but.........
