ZF gearbox

Has any one fitted a ZF 4 speed auto gearbox in a dolomite/sprint

Sounds exciting, as in awkward and expensive! Nothing is impossible but you'll be into fabricating adaptor plates at a minimum. I know it's been done on a Stag, but believe that required an adaptor plate and bell housing to be specially made as well as changes to an electronic speedometer.

I'm about to start the mod on a Stag,I've been collecting bits for a while,just thought looking at the ZF gearbox. That mite fit a dolomite
you do need a sandwich plate made. To go on the zf gearbox and then use BW35 bellhousing

Its also been done a few times on P6 Rover V8's I know it does not help for a sprint? But it is a worthwhile conversion.

AFAIK that conversion uses a standard Stag BW35 bellhousing, but needs a custom adapter made to fit that to the front of the ZF box.

If you can get an LDV V8 ZF box that has a cable speedo.

Unless you know someone who fixes rozzer vans, IIRC they were Rover V8 with the ZF gearbox!

They were, and a few ambulances as well.

They are still about, but they are getting harder to find.
