Re: ZF gearbox
Sounds exciting, as in awkward and expensive!
Nothing is impossible but you'll be into fabricating adaptor plates at a minimum. I know it's been done on a Stag, but believe that required an adaptor plate and bell housing to be specially made as well as changes to an electronic speedometer.

Current fleet: '75 Sprint, '73 1850, Daihatsu Fourtrak, Honda CG125, Yamaha Fazer 600, Shetland 570 (yes it's a boat!)
Past fleet: Triumph 2000, Lancia Beta Coupe, BL Mini Clubman, Austin Metro, Vauxhall Cavalier MK1 & MK2, Renault 18 D, Rover 216 GSI, Honda Accord (most expensive car purchase, hated, made out of magnetic metal as only car I've ever been crashed into...4 times), BMW 318, Golf GTi MK3 16v x 3

Re: ZF gearbox
I'm about to start the mod on a Stag,I've been collecting bits for a while, just thought looking at the ZF gearbox. That mite fit a dolomite
you do need a sandwich plate made. To go on the zf gearbox and then use BW35 bellhousing

Re: ZF gearbox
Its also been done a few times on P6 Rover V8's
I know it does not help for a sprint? But it is a worthwhile conversion.

Re: ZF gearbox
AFAIK that conversion uses a standard Stag BW35 bellhousing, but needs a custom adapter made to fit that to the front of the ZF box.
If you can get an LDV V8 ZF box that has a cable speedo.
Currently over 35 years worth of fixing 35 boxes.
Hoping to reach 65 years worth of fixing 65 boxes.

Re: ZF gearbox
Unless you know someone who fixes rozzer vans, IIRC they were Rover V8 with the ZF gearbox!

They were, and a few ambulances as well.
They are still about, but they are getting harder to find.
