On the Sprint rocker shaft there is a small countersunk head screw which secures the shaft to the end pedestal on the LHS.
I'm sure I've read somewhere that this should be Loctited in, But right now I can't find the refererence.
Is this still the case please ?

Yes, loctite it in. I've found them wedged into valve springs or just plain missing on more than one occasion!
