Re: Stripes
I believe they should be silver but looking at some of the images on Google, the black ones look good too.

Re: Stripes
My Tahiti blue 1850HL had gold stripes from new and that's what I put back on.

Yep, silver on Tahiti Sprint, all the dark blue Sprints had silver (Sprints never had gold)

Re: Stripes
That said, we do have gold Sprint stripes in stock. In fact, if there are any requirements for different colour or special stripes or decals, PM me with details.

Re: Stripes
My Sprint parts list, from Sept '75, only gives the option of black or silver in side stripes and it's my understanding this is consistent throughout production. The 1850 stripes were also available in gold, but the 1850 stripe is dimensionally different (the "thick" stripe is thinner on an 1850)
So what you have on your car depends on how much you value originality! You can put whatever you like on, but only black or silver is historically accurate and, generally speaking, only one of those 2 choices will be correct for any given car colour.
Not definitive, and I may have missed out on a couple of colours, but this what I remember,
BLACK stripe with White, Honeysuckle, Mimosa, Inca, Sandglow, Ice Blue, French Blue, Pimento, Vermillion, Flamenco, Emerald.
SILVER stripe with Sienna, Maple, Russet, Sapphire, Tahiti, Pageant, Delft Blue, Mallard, BRG, Brooklands Green, Magenta, Carmine.
PLEASE don't inundate me with "i've seen such and such stripe on such and such colour" the cars are 40 years old and ANYTHING can be done! The only one i'm personally not certain of is Delft blue, i'm not even sure i've ever seen a Delft car in the tin. Some of the colours listed above are exceedingly rare on Sprints, e.g. Honeysuckle, Mallard, Emerald, BRG, i've included them because the colour is listed in the parts book as a possible choice! And the list is only relevant to UK cars. Export cars and those built locally in NZ have colours not seen or available in the UK.

Re: Stripes
The stripe kits sold by TDC are exceptional value and high quality. I’ve recently fit a set myself, and will be doing another car with them shortly.
