Can anyone give advice on fitting the stainless trims on the swage line of the doors? I'm quickly running out of new trim clips as each time I try and knock them in all that happens is the trim pings off and the clip is then inserted
I bought the clips from Bresco so I'm fairly sure I've got the rights ones.
Although it's as though the 'pin' is too long to fit in the channel of the trim before it's knocked in. If I knock the pin in it fits in the trim but it won't go into the hole in the door.
The clips need to be fitted to the door first - I used a hammer and a block of wood! Carefully! Or you can use something like a 1/4 extension bar to fit over the pin to get it started then finish with the hammer. The clips should push into the holes in the door without too much effort, it's the pins that are stubborn.
Then fit the trim by hooking on one edge, swing over the clips, and hit the trim with your hand.
The clips should not be too tight in the holes, as Bill said. They should only need a light push with your thumb. If they are too tight they will break. I found this out when I had my restos sprayed, the build up of the paint made the holes too small.

I've now got my trim back on! I think I was also being a bit ginger when putting the trim on, it needs a fair hit to get it on. I used a wide wooden drift and a knock with a hammer.
