Hi,
As per the title, i don’t have anything on the carb choke levers to attach a cable to, can anyone recommend where I can get the appropriate parts? Also, how do you fit the cable? Any pics anyone?
Chris.
How do you connect the choke cable to twin Dellortos.

Easy answer is that you don't need a choke cable as Dellortos work differently to SUs. Simply pump the throttle two or three times quickly right to the floor (that uses the accelerator pump to push extra fuel in) and then turn the ignition on and start. Engine should catch immediately. I used to run at 1500 rpm for a short while (30-60 seconds?) to get some warmth into the engine before driving off. If starts but falters, just pump the throttle a bit. If it doesn't start after a few goes, foot to the floor and hold, turn the starter over to clear as it may have flooded. Then repeat the above. That's all I ever did in twenty years I ran the brown car on 45 Dellortos.

Thanks Geoff I’ll give it a try. It has been pretty awful to cold start even on a summers day, hold the choke levers over and it’s on the button but I will try your method.

I did the same as Geoff when I had Dellortos on the TR7 Sprint. However, if you really need a choke, you can see where it should go in this picture:

It goes through the unused adjuster on the far left and connects to the two short levers in the middle of both carb tops. I was going to put two screw-on nipples on the same cable, but I never found the need.

The 16v Slant 4 engine is more fun than the 3.5 V8, because you mostly drive it on the upslope of the torque curve.
