Some advice if possible please.
At the weekend I got the K&N filters out to fit on the Dellortos, however, they are not deep enough, I have trumpets that are just over 50mm, and 60mm filters, so needless to say no good, these filters came with the carbs.
Do I buy 83mm filters so I have a decent 30mm clearance between trumpet and filter cover, or do I buy shorter trumpets? Gut instinct says stick with my original trumpets and get bigger filters, anything I’m missing?? Will bigger filters fit ok? Anything I need to look out for?
Thanks in advance!
Chris.

Use bigger filters if they will fit - just watch they don't hit the brake master when the engine moves around. Otherwise smaller trumpets will have to be the compromise. I used K&N filters (they look like the 83mm ones) to start with but lost the metal ends as the screws came loose, hence the link to join the two covers! I ended up with individual 'socks'.

That’s great, thanks. Looks like I’ll have to put a drop of loctite on the threads, maybe a lock washer too.
