The servo on the Sprint (which was a 1500 one put in while the Sprint's was referbed) has apparantly died while the car's been stood a year - it does nothing now anyway. So I need to fit that refiurebed one that's been in the shed a couple of years. Unfortunatly the master cylinder that was attached to the original Sprint servo was lost by the garage. So there's two quiestions:
Will the 1500 master cylinder will fit on the Sprint servo or do I need a replacement?
If it will swap over, what's the posibility of swapping the servos out without disconnecting the hydraulics, i.e. unbolting the 1500 one from master cylinder and car and sliding the sprint's in the space it leaves?

Replacing brake servo
The 16v Slant 4 engine is more fun than the 3.5 V8, because you mostly drive it on the upslope of the torque curve.

Re: Replacing brake servo
The cylinders should be identical.
As to whether there is enough 'give' to fit without disturbing hydraulics I'd say with a single line system you stand a very slim chance, but less of one with a tandem.

Re: Replacing brake servo
I've changed servos on single line and tandem systems without disturbing the pipes, it can be done if you're careful!

Re: Replacing brake servo
Thanks, that's reassuring.
Still not sure I'll start till I get the Herald back (broke another diff). But I've got problems on both cars I don't want to tackle till I have the other in case it all goes horribly wrong - in the case of the Herald I need to drop the rad so I can re-bore the hole through the (Spitfire) inlet manifold, 'cos the rotten end of the cooling system pipe snapped off.
