Hi Folks,
After 6 weeks in the UK my wife and I have now returned home and have shaken off the jet-lag.
One of the places we saw was the British Motor Museum where I saw a very nice Sprint, that they said was relatively new to them
The other 2 were in the car park.
Cheers,
Rob

ORW is the last Dolomite produced; it has been owned by Gaydon for many years, but has recently been on loan to the Atwell Wilson car museum for a couple of years or so.

Is that a Dove GTR4? I would love one of those or a TR6 with Harrington hard top! Thanks for the photo, I’ve pinched a copy to be my new screensaver.
Hope you both had a great time...

Yes, it is a GTR4 Dove.
I met the owner (he's in the drivers seat in the photo)
He was at the museum doing some research. When I told him I'd never seen one before he was shocked and told me that there were 3 in Australia. I said its a BIG island and that the whole of the UK is about the same size as Victoria, our smallest mainland state.

All up we drove 5,200kms in the UK, including John O Groats and Lands End. We tried to stick to A, or lesser, roads in order to see more of the villages and towns etc, which proved to be a good decision. I found the UK's motorways to be brilliant, although overcrowded.....compared to what I'm used to. AND....driving from Bristol to Plymouth during pelting rain, I was amazed at the number of drivers driving way, WAY over the speed limit in really awful conditions with very limited visibility. Just bloody crazy.....and downright dangerous. That was probably the most stressful drive I've ever had in a foreign country except for a Friday afternoon Los Angeles to Las Vegas trip about 3 years ago.

Would I do it again....You betcha I would (and I'll be back in the UK again next year and again in 2021, making it 4 years in a row).

Cheers,
Rob
