RBRR info?
Im thinking I'd like the challenge of the RBRR but dont know how to go about it. How do I get involved?

1. You need to be a CT member. If you are not, join today....
2. Entries go live this Saturday, and will probably all go with 48 hours? Online entry.
or 3, find somebody who is entered and decide if you can spend 48hrs in a car with them.
Not for the faint hearted, it is a real test of endurance for man and machine. I (personally) wouldn't do it as a 2 man team, but 3 makes it OK. One drives, one navs/talks to driver, one sleeps. Rotate and repeat.....
Finally, there is an expectation to raise money for the chosen charity. The event has a strong history in recent years for this aspect, with about 100K raised last time, and nearly as much the time before.

One member of your crew needs to be a paid up member, others don't have to be, but the member must make the entry.
I did it in 2018 with Mahesh and one of my neighbours in Mahesh's Sprint, 2166 miles in 50hrs and 1 minute. Yes it is a gruelling test of the car, but even more so of the crew! Mash's car behaved impeccably, except for burning out the dipswitch, just shy of John O Groats as the sun was rising on the Saturday mornng. Thankfully, I was able to work round it to get dip and flash to finish the run.
But I learned a lot from it and will be better prepared this time, where I will be entering the Dolomega with the same crew.
Things I have learned!
Take a sleeping bag! Even with 3 in the car, the back seat is COLD at that time of year, especially if you are trying to sleep!
An eye mask is also a good idea for sleeping, day or night.
Get your headlamp beam patterns set up with the car LOADED, so they are exactly right, I can't even guess how many people I dazzled going up the A9 in the wee hours of Saturday morning.
No matter how carefully you plan, the part you will need is not one you have brought with you. So don't try, take fluids and basics, a decent jack and as comprehensive a tool collection as you can and leave it at that. A bag of cable ties and a small roll of .8 mig wire is handy too. With those two, you can bodge most anything! Make sure your spare wheel is in good condition and inflated.
Only take/use ONE satnav, if you have more, they will disagree with each other (and the road book)
The best way to prepare a car, is to daily it for a few weeks, then fix what goes wrong!
Cupholders are a great invention, find a way to fit them!
DON'T try (as I did) to drive home 150 miles the same night as you finish the run! There is a perfectly good cheap hotel just outside the Knebworth gates. GET SOME KIP!

I have completed the RBRR 3 times. Twice in my TR7 engined Toledo, once in (RIP) Bill Goodwins Dollomite (again, TR7 engine)
Nothing serious with any of those, except last time the OD packed up on the way to the start. Remidied in a pub carpark, it was the solenoid earth wire insulation had gone brittle, causing the wire to fracture. Found by good luck when I saw a spark. Bills car the locking fuel cap seized. A screwdriver hammered into the lock and a pair of molegrips had the tank filled. I reckon 60seconds from realising teh issue to it being resolved, about 3am Sunday morning.
I will echo making the back seat as comfy as possible. A duvet thing and couple of pillow. And I find a hoody useful, cuts noise down, keeps draughts off your neck and so on when having a sleep. You get into a happy rhythm after 12 hours, then it is OK.

I'll be going for it again.
Car to be confirmed but will probably leave the Sprint at home this time.
I have the 1850 formally of Ian sprint95m and a recently purchased TR7 to choose from as alternatives. I haven't done more than a few miles in each yet but the TR7 does have a very big boot and first impressions of the passenger seat are good for a decent kip.
