j-type OD solenoid valve stem

Hi,

I'm experiencing some troubles with the OD (J-type) on my Sprint. I removed the solenoid and am testing it on the bench.
The stem of the solenoid is moving, but my impression is, that it is too little: approx. 2-3 millimeters. Is that enough movement?
How much movement should there be?

I never measured it but when i had mine apart i was surprised at how little it moved. What you have could be normal.
