Sprint exhaust mounting bracketsA benefit of lockdown

#1 Post by BobM »

A benefit of lockdown. I am finally able to make real progress with a Sprint project that has been on the back burner for about 30 years.
Sandblasted, welded and the underside and interior painted. It is on a rotisserie and I am currently putting fittings, brake and fuel lines etc.
on the bottom whilst access is easy, before fitting the suspension. Once on wheels I can finish painting the exterior with the rotisserie frame
out of the way.

Of the 'J ' shaped brackets that hang the silencers, I have 3 different lengths top to bottom. None would seem to be quite right.
Part No. 140743 (5). Rimmers show no availability.

Could someone kindly measure the correct length top to bottom of this bracket.

Thanks in anticipation.

As it happens I have just been fitting a new exhaust to my Sprint. All five of the hangers are the same (pt no 140743) - the only one different is the tail pipe one - which you already know.

I have attached a pic of one of the hangers next to a ruler, its is 90mm top to bottom. When in place the bottom of the bracket is level with the bottom of the sill (flat inner part not the seam) - see second pic.

Thanks Marshman, that was just what I needed. I have identified and found all 5.

Thanks again.

Bob.
