Yokohama or other tyre recommendations (Sprint)
Yokohama or other tyre recommendations (Sprint)
G'day all ! I'm on the hunt for tyres (Sprint alloys).
But the Yokohama 175/70/R13 82H is nearly impossible to get in Australia anymore. Though there's a similar one with a T rating.
Is there a real world difference with T rated version? What did Yokohama fans replace this tyre with ? Also open to recommendations of any brand within this size, cheers !

H rated means they are good for 130mph. T rated wasn't around at the time of the sprint, they had s rated (112mph) but T rated is 118, so should be fine for most people.

Falken, when you have tried once you don't want another. Superb in the wet also.

Excellent suggestions, thanks everybody! Those Falkens sound excellent.

Another vote here for the Falkens. Brilliant all round tyre and look pretty cool too.

The SN832? got some on my daughters car. Excellent tyres, superb grip. Probably get some for teh Toledo when the time comes
Got Falken 914's on my spit, HR rated but wet grip not as good. And just fitted a pair of new Falkens to the back on teh wifes MX5, really nice tyres so far, but limited use. I am liking Falkens...

Finding it near impossible to get these great brands in H rating (at least in 175/70 R13)

I have Uniroyal Rain Expert 3 on mine in T rating - its an 1850 but on Sprint wheels so still 175/70 x 13. I like them a lot.

Not my car, I came across it on a customer vehicle yesterday and thought it worth posting here!

Didn't know Chile made tyres. To be be fair I have fitted budget tyres to my everyday driver and I haven't ended up in a ditch. They grip, stop and work in the rain well enough for normal driving.
