Standard Shocks & Springs

Now there's a thought, is this something that the club could consider doing, such is the confusion surrounding standard fitment. I made a quick phone call to Springcoil Ltd. in Sheffield who have made lowered springs for our cars before and is currently investigating if they have the pattern for part no.217989 & 218924. If they don't they can remanufacture from a supplied spring. Cost would be in the £60 region, which doesn't seem that bad. Any thoughts if this is something the club would want to get involved in.

potentially, yes, though we do have an account with a redditch based spring manufacturer who made our clutch pedal return springs, manufactured in the UK too!

Another possibility is using "universal" springs. These are available in many sizes, stiffnesses and quality. I made a few years ago for an Italian rallyteam uprated gp2 suspension parts and also had a set of shocks made with springs. I had these made with a uniball as a lower bush and I modified the std springseats fitting larger studs and to accept 2,25 inch dia springs. I never used these myself yet because before I do buy these for my own rally cars the Italians could test them for me.
