Plumbing for 850 tank conversion

#1 Post by cleverusername »

I have a Volvo 850 tank, which I plan to mount on the N/S strut top. I just have a question about the plumbing. Posts on the subject say to T the bottom outlet of the tank into the bottom hose of the rad.

How have people who have made this conversion cleared the exhaust manifold? How have they supported the hose? My other worry is the length of the hose required, how have people managed to prevent it collapsing in on itself and turning into valve? Have they used a metal section?

Just had a thought, could it be mounted on the O/S strut? That would keep it away from the hot exhaust and shorten the length of the outlet pipe required.

I use an elbow and a one metre length of 19mm silicone.
If you buy a decent brand the hose can be bent pretty tight without deforming.
Do not buy silicon.com!!!
For clearance I shorten the elbow where it connects to the header tank outlet.

I route the hose around the back but I suppose it could go to the front.
