DXC 190L - Does anyone know this car
I bought this 1850 white auto last week from a mechanic who was selling on behalf of two sons who's father owned it for several years and never drove it unfortunately the paperwork has gone missing so I don't know any history of the car except what `i have learned from the DVLA MOT check website which shows it's done 1700 miles since 2006 and now the clock only shows 21,500.
I just wondered if anyone on here new anything about it.

The white one on ebay a few weeks back? Lovely car. Curious as to if the vinyl interior is original or not, ive only ever seen cloth in early Dolomites.

It was owned by an ex-Club member in the West Midlands until around 2016. That's all we know about it.

Yes it was advertised on ebay a couple of weeks ago. The owner had passed away and his two sons were selling it via a mechanic friend. He told me that a lot of people had mentioned the vinyl interior saying " that interior is wrong. I am thankful it is not cloth as I don't think it would look as good as it does now. My brother had a triumph 2.5 PI back in the 70s and he had the exact same interior. Maybe I will try to get a Heritage certificate which would tell me what interior was fitted from new. What do you think?matt of the vivas wrote: The white one on ebay a few weeks back? Lovely car. Curious as to if the vinyl interior is original or not, ive only ever seen cloth in early Dolomites.

It will be on the trim code on the chassis plate, if it was cloth from new the trim code will have a C prefix and 2 numbers to denote colour, if it was originally vinyl it will just have the numbers.alvera wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 10:19 amYes it was advertised on ebay a couple of weeks ago. Hi Steve , Yes I checked this morning and the chassis plate just shows three numbers no letters so Its I suspected that the car was supplied with vinyl seats from new, thanks for your help to confirm thisCarledo wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 1:11 pmIt will be on the trim code on the chassis plate, if it was cloth from new the trim code will have a C prefix and 2 numbers to denote colour, if it was originally vinyl it will just have the numbers.alvera wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 10:19 amYes it was advertised on ebay a couple of weeks ago. A black vinyl interior should only have the number 11, or C11 for cloth. What are the three numbers you have?

Alun beat me to it!
All it means is that, at some time in the past, someone has swapped out the seats, which may have been ripped, damaged or collapsed, for a set from a lower spec model. It may have been what turned up first, or it may have been a conscious choice (more hard wearing) at this point in time we'll probably never know!
I wouldn't have been too surprised to find vinyl from new, if you asked for it and were prepared to wait an extra couple of weeks for a special order car, Triumph would do whatever you wanted. But I am less surprised that it is a later retrofit!
