Whilst I slowly (very slowly) put my engine back together, I noticed the cork Cam cover gasket Is not a good fit and is slightly too large at the wide end , meaning that the gasket distorts when trial fitting and without trimming quite a lot off it’s not going to fit. This one came in with my head gasket set from Robsport.
Has anyone else had this problem and can a better gasket be recommended?

Re: TR7 cam cover gasket
Are you sure it actually oversize? When I used a similar cork gaskets on the 1500, they always seemed slightly oversized and were difficult to fit. Yet when I finally got them in, they fitted perfectly.
I will be honest, I used a bit of gasket compound or tigerseal to stick to the cam cover. A cheat but it worked.
I wouldn't recommend hacking bits off the gasket, that is just asking for leaks.

I won’t be trimming it. But yes it’s definitely oversize
