Dan Brown's yer man here Richard I think...I suspect he has lots of experience with both engine and suspension!
Come and see some pretty shoddy, slow driving of a really well prepared competition Sprint here!

Re: AVO Coilovers
I have AVO's on my Dolly, but not impressed by the lower bush. After replacement squeaking within a year. They wear quickly.

Spax have the same issue.
I’m looking at changing to a spherical bearing.

Hi Jeroen, do you have a prduuct number of the bearing? How did you prevent the bearing from sliding across the bolt?
Re: AVO Coilovers
Hallo Henk,
I ordered these at Avo with a bearing end. These are not std Avo's with just a bearing fitted. Fitting a superflex bush will solve your problem.

Re: AVO Coilovers
I tried the uprated bush’s they don’t work either.
Once mine is up and running.
I’ll go for AVOs with the bearing Or GAZ.
Do you have the part numbers for the shocks.
What are the spring lengths and Lbs you went for.
On your AVOs do you have the second lock ring
Difficult to see clearly. ..

Re: AVO Coilovers
When I was racing I found the only solution to this problem was to revert back to rubber bushes on the modified Bilsteins I was using. They were never a problem even with 225lb springs on the rear and 500lb on the front.

Re: AVO Coilovers
The set in the pics I did fabricate for an Italian rallyteam. I just ordered Dolomite ones "but with uniball end" at Avo. Not a particular partnumber. I do not know the spring rates of these springs fitted but iirc these were exactly the same as in the ST data sheets for rallying. Mine still have to be fitted..SprintV8 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2020 10:07 amI tried the uprated bush’s they don’t work either.

There isn't an extra lockring but an allen screw in the springseat.

Re: AVO Coilovers
Hi all togehter,
i´m new at this forum....as i just recenttly purchased a Dolomite 1850HL.
LHD, first sold in NL, the car was treated with wax when new, hence its still unwelded and nearly 100% rustfree...with 80k Origianl Miles
from my "history" i´m related to all sorts of (sportish) britsh fibeglass (TVR,Lotus, Ginetta, Sylva, Westfield, Scimitar....) and quite handy with the spanners.
ok...longstory short: the Dolomite is too soft and too high suspensionwise....
now i enquired at GAZ and at AVO, Avo redirected me to Jigsaw
my question to both :
do you supply the shocks with the spring-seats, matching with the original ID of the triumph coils?
(3.25” ID front as far as I know) or do you use standard 2.25”ID springs and a locating plattform?
replies:
GAZ qoted the coilovers saying: We make them to fit 2 ¼”, 2 ½” & 2 ¾” id springs
AVO (Jig) The front and rear shocks to suit a 2 ¼ inch inside diameter spring.
You would need to adapt your spring seats to suit the smaller ID springs
so now i´m totally confused, as reading the forum it looks like others did not need to fabricate adapters or locating-platforms.
my goal is: give the car a more sportier "look", plus a sportier ride.
what i´m not able to do is: adapt spring-seats by fabricating items myselves.
can you help me what to do?

Re: AVO Coilovers
I wouldn't worry - in my experience, the AVO's Kits come with all the bits you need...no fabrication necessary!
The image below show the 'top hat sections' - those kits are -1".

Jigsaw have gone to pieces haven't they and are no longer with us?
