1300 Doors- what's the difference?

For everything to do with Dolomites, Toledos, FWD cars and Dolomite-based kitcars.

1300 Doors- what's the difference?

#1 Post by Macleesh »

Think I've read the lock location is all that's different but how hard is it to convert?

Thanks

As you say the lock is different, very different in fact IMO the easiest way to swap it over would be to change that section of panel around the slam panel part of the lock but the shape of the frame is also slightly different so it wouldn't be a straight cut and replace exercise. also the inner panel is different as the 1300 has different handles and winders, then there is the different exterior handles and lock.
Apart from all that they are the same

I was expecting to have to cut bits out of a donor door to make it work, just trying to get a feel for how much would need to be transplanted.

Probably easier to find the much more common Dolomite doors for a Dolomite and leave the 1300 doors for someone who actually needs them for a 1300FWD!

Hope these pics showing the two different doors answers your question better than my description did. as you can see its not just a simple job of changing the locks.
