Having stripped an engine i built 25 years ago, it looks to have an extra thick head gasket.
The "as removed" thickness is 50 thou.
What are people doing these days for these? Is it even possible to get them now?

Re: Head Gaskets
This is a Sprint engine?
The answer is yes, they are still available, just checked and Robsport has them and there are some on ebay. No doubt other suppliers will have them to. Why do you need one, has someone skimmed your head in the past?

Re: Head Gaskets
Do we need to worry about brand?
I saw robsport had TR7. Is that the same?
Yes, head was heavily skimmed. And cam housing line bored, and head ported. etc, etc.

Re: Head Gaskets
The one you want from Robsport is the 16V one, I would be surprised if the TR7 one would work.
As for brands, I have a Payen one fitted to mine and that seems to be the recommended one but I don't know if they do a thicker gasket.
