1850 running strombergs
Can someone post pictures showing the original arrangement of heater flow and return pipes and where the connect from on the engine please? Is it the same as one with SU carbs?
Aye...
It is the same as the later SU equipped cars.
(The inlet manifolds look the same save for the coil mounting boss
and the different spacing for the carb fixings)

Re: 1850 running strombergs
Thanks Ian, trying to help someone who's car seems to have been modified such that the heater is always on, and certain pipes have been terminated with bungs!!

Re: 1850 running strombergs
Can't quite visualize HOW they've done this!
Since the tap that can turn it OFF is part of the heater matrix itself, I can think of a dozen ways to get a heater that won't turn on, but the only way to get a heater permanently stuck ON, is to have everything else right in terms of flow and a stuck or disconnected tap operation mechanism.

Re: 1850 running strombergs
On my 1850 auto with Strombergs there is a metal pipe bolted to the cylinder head and one end connects to the thermostat housing, the other end has a tee, one end goes to the heater matrix, the other side connects to the underside of the manifold.
There is also another end of the manifold also connects to the heater matrix.
hope this helps and that my memory has not let me down this morning.
