That's the other side of London to me, easier to go to Sussex where the Revolution Factory is.

What is going to impact you most is the size of tyre you fit to the rims. Anything that increases the rolling circumference or width of the tread is going to potentially cause issues or need for modification. Front is going to present a lot less problem that the rear as there is huge clearance around the front. Rear is much tighter and you also have to pay attention to the bushes (make sure they are in top condition) so that the whole axle can't float side to side.

MGF 15 inch wheels will fit with appropriate tyres, they stick out a bit more but don't foul anything. You also have the option with wheels with a bit too much offset to use spacers and bigger wheel studs, but don't know how legal that is in the UK.

My Sprint is lowered about an inch, has harder suspension, but I use 195/60R14 tyres all round on ROH rims. All hubs have bigger and longer M12 wheel studs. No modification to front wheel arch, but rear outer guard edge had to be rolled and inner guard hit many times with a very large hammer. I also use spacer to ensure the tyre sits exactly in the middle.

Using Sprint wheels is going to be an awfully lot simpler!! However, I am sure if you contact the manufacturer of those Minilite replicas they will be able to tell you exactly which of their wheels will fit. Then as long as you don't over tyre them, you will be fine.

I was planning on using the same tyre size as the sprint alloys (175/70R13 iirc) as they are both 13x5.5j.

This diagram might help clear up some of your confusion.

I use RFX revolutions on my 1300fwd abet with a few modifications 8)
they are 5.5x13 with a ET of 28mm

Something of a thread resurrection!

By this rationale, will the following fit on a Sprint?

5.5 x 14" Wheel, PCD 95.25 with an ET22 offset, fitted with a 185/60/14 tyre?

That combination gives a very similar circumference to a 185/60/13 but it's the offset I'm unsure of.

All the arches are rolled and the rear arches also pulled out a bit....

How can a 185/60 x 14 have a similar circumference to a 185/60 x 13?

I've got 5.5x14 x 95,25pcd fake minilites on the Dolomega, shod with 185/60/14s. these come out remarkably similar in circumference to the standard 175/70/13s. Close enough to be well within permissable speedo error. All well and good so far.

These wheels were sold to me by MWS as being TR7 spec, which I believe is ET27. Now, a) i'm not sure the TR7 ET is what I quoted, and b) I haven't actually measured the wheels to check what the ET actually IS! (must do this!) They may have sold me a PUP (but they WERE really cheap)

But the tyres foul the back arches quite badly, i've had to cut most of the lips away and still get an occaisional scuff on big bumps when the tank is full. I had to cut less off the Carledo to clear the MGF 15s with 195/50s!

Sorry, typo, should have read 195/50/14: 1730 v 1735 or a dia of 551mm.

So Steve, I think I'll be ok then with the 14"? Might try a slightly less et to be on the safe side, say ET25?

Hmmm, that's interesting Dave, I wonder what the Stag offset is?

Even more important is that they are a different stud pattern!!!

You need to go, if possible, to a slightly higher ET, ideally, I reckon around ET30.

The original Sprint ET is 35 despite other claims on this thread. If you are running the same rim width (5.5) as the original wheels then you need to run approximately the same ET too. But I know a lot of aftermarket wheel makers don't work up the Sprint's rather extreme +35. But the lower the number, the further OUT the wheels sit. This is great in one way since it increases track and gives greater stability. Unfortunately the standard rear arch doesn't leave much room to exploit this! Which is the problem i've got with the rear arches on the Dolomega.

The ET on the MGF 15s is about 22, but they are 6" wide and that extra half inch has to go mostly inboard, but not too much or the tyres will hit the INNER arch, my 195/50s on the Carledo are as close to the inner arch as they are to the rolled outer arch, ie very close indeed!
