Thermostat housing

#1 Post by Malsprint »

The holes on my thermostat housing are different sizes. One is 3/8” and the other 15/32”. Is this correct or has the larger one been drilled out for some reason.

I have an inlet manifold where one of the seized bolts has been drilled out and a larger stud fitted, could be the reason here, both holes should be a clearance size for 3/8 (0.375)

That makes sense. My manifold has not suffered the same fate so I guess the housing has been swapped at sometime.

I will fill it with epoxy and redrill to increase the sealing surface.
