Wow! that's really sad to see, hope you are ok? Do you know what caused the fire?

Heart wrenching...I stood and watched the same happen to my Jensen Interceptor with its lead loading dripping onto the floor...and then realised the insurance documents were in the glove box!!

You may not find the cause due to the extent of damage.

I hope your agreed value is up to date.

Agreed value of £12000 , changed it from £8000 last year,as you say Alun may not find the cause, everything melted under bonnet away.

Sorry to hear, the same happened to my Volvo 340, quite scary when you see flames/smoke and you're inside the car! Glad you are all OK and fingers crossed insurance pays out.

Really sad to see, absolutely gutted for you, looked like a really nice car. Good to hear you are OK, hopefully £12K will get you another one.

Very sad news but the main thing is that no one got hurt.
It's probably a good time to remind members who haven't got decent agreed value insurance to make sure that they get their cars valued now. Our cars have increased in a value considerably over the past year or so. See https://forum.triumphdolomite.co.uk/vie ... =31&t=1663 for details of the free valuation service.
Having one of these in the car may have helped.... https://forum.triumphdolomite.co.uk/vie ... 20&t=35993

Club membership costs just £30 for one year or £55 for two years. See https://forum.triumphdolomite.co.uk/vie ... =4&t=37824 for details.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Let's all make sure that we keep a few vehicle rated fire extinguishers in all our vehicles: New, more than one, and readily accessible. I keep two smaller extinguishers in the cabin that I can grab instantly, and a larger one in the boot.

The last time I took the Stag out for a drive there was a fuel leak in the engine bay and thankfully I managed to get it recovered before anything caught light. Obviously, it was also the one time that I went out without a fire extinguisher. I was lucky on that occasion.

Sad news, glad you were OK, real shame about the car. As others have said a timely reminder to get a decent extinguisher. I have a small one in the car - somewhere, no idea how old it is, so probably useless. This has prompted me to get a "Firestick". Just ordered one and used the club code to get a 10% discount.

Hope you get the insurance sorted to your satisfaction.

Very sad to see indeed, but glad you are ok.

Let's hope for a good outcome on the insurance for you.

A timely reminder to check my extinguishers in my cars too.
