Dolomite 1850/Sprint front seat wires

Hi all. Are the front seat squab rubber strap retaining wires still available any where? One of my seats I'm hoping to get recovered the rubbers are slack due to the wires failing. (see pic)

Never seen a Sprint seat looking like that, there's usually a rubber diaphragm that stretches front to rear and side to side clipping into holes punched into the tubular frame. We had these diaphragms remanufactured a few years ago and I believe we have plenty of stock. If your frame has the holes, and they're in the correct places, one of those would sort you out

The photo shows the rear of the seat back with the outer cover off (note the white cover for the head restraint post at the top), not the base (or seat squab). The seat backs do use Pirelli webbing unlike the seat base which as you state use a rubber diaphragm.

Is it the wires or has the Pirelli webbing lost it's elasticity?

Hi,
This is the seat back (squab) that is the problem here. The diaphragm supports the base cushion.
These wires give support to the sides and give the back it's shape. Made of hardened wire they hold their shape well but can break. Although originally available as replacement parts, I would be amazed if anyone has held on to them. The more common problem is a loss of tension in the webbing.

The most likely source will be a scrap seat.
