On My exhaust manifold one of the threads has striped ( the down pipe to the manifold ) whats best to use helicoil or timesert ?

I alway's fit helicoils and then studs. It's better to turn a nut around a stud to tighten than a bolt in in a manifold or whatever threaded hole.
Recently repaired a manifold in situ. It was gas tight and I didn't feel like rethread the head also..
Only the bulkhead has an extra blanking grommet now.

They were helicoiled as standard when new!
