All.
I have three internal passenger grips to refix to the two passenger rear doors and the front passenger door. (The ones above the door). Obviously there is two fixing holes per grip.
The car has a new headlining in it so no visible holes presently.
I think I have located what feels like the two points where the fixing holes should be. Any help or guidance before I pierce a new headlining would be greatly appreciated.

bit late to tell this now but someone else may like the tip, before fitting an headlining put all the screws in place then when you need to fit the handles or mirror cut a small X on the screw head with a very sharp blade and the screw will pop through.
Some people are like Slinky's, they serve no real purpose in life but bring a smile to your face when you push them down the stairs.

Having watched Cliff do this on numerous occasions, he uses a needle to locate the holes in the body after first obtaining an approximate location by feel.

I think I have located two holes which are the same dimensions apart as the handles holes so will be fixing them hopefully this weekend.

I am wondering whether my four-door, N-registration, 1974 Triumph Toledo 1300 "HL Special" with black interior, might have pre-threaded holes in the ceiling above the rear-passenger doors & front-passenger door, for the retro-fitment of these late-model grab-handles; having several years ago, salvaged a set of appropriate black colour, from a late-model Triumph Dolomite 1500 HL!?!
Regretably, I failed to note the positions of the ceiling screw holes in the Triumph Dolomite 1500 HL's ceiling!

It might.......but more than likely not! Prior to 1976, the earlier type of grab handles, the fold down, spring back ones as per the series 1 Sprint and my 72 1500FWD were the norm. And, wouldn't you know it, the fitting points in the roof are not mutually compatible between the 2 designs of grab handle!
Though your roof will almost certainly have the fitting holes, since the roof cantrail is the same, the holes will be in positions compatible with the earlier style of grab handle!

I am pleased to report I got all three roof handles on over the weekend.
I tried to locate the holes with a needle but was failing miserably. I tried for a good thirty minutes but just could not find any locating holes.
I took the plunge and slowly pulled back the headlining above the passenger door and to my surprise my old mate Will had kindly left the fixing screws in. I had a good laugh to myself and gave Will a call to thank him for leaving the screws in but equally to tell him I had been searching for the locating holes for a good 30 minutes and was beginning to question my sanity !!
The rear handles took another 10 minutes to fix. Job done, handles back on, and a few laughs along the way.

Hello Dave.
I am acquainted with riv-nuts and know that they're like rivets and can be inserted like a pop-rivet. When I get around to re-installing the modified Dolomite HL sculptured dashboard into my Toledo, I might use either riv-nuts or clinch-nuts for the under-windscreen attachments.
