1500TC Springs and Shocks

On holiday at moment so no access to manual; Rimmers have 12% off GAZ springs and shock absorbers (RT1273 kit) however my car is a an 1974 Triumph 1500TC, please could someone advise if the standard dolomite springs and shocks in the GAZ kit will fit? Thanks

Anyhow,
the answer is yes,
albeit you may need to acquire Dolomite strut tops as your 1500TC may have smaller
overall size springs

With all due respect to Ian, it may not be that simple!

Whilst ANY spring/shock combo CAN fit (or be adapted to fit) ANY Dolomite or Dolomite related car, not every combo will give a desired or desirable ride height/stiffness result!

Once you start mucking about with aftermarket shox and differing spring rates, you are entering a minefield of epic proportions.

This is because there is zero information available on what was fitted as standard as regards spring rates and shocker rates, so you have no "zero" figure to work from.

Whether working from original parts lists or Rimmers almost as baffling catalogue there are only part numbers, which tell you nothing useful about what you are buying.

As far as my experience goes (and i've messed about with Dolomite suspension for many years in many different styles and purposes of Dolomite from track to cruiser) there are really only 2 ways to go, either, a) keep it stock or b) use the excellent Gaz ASP and adjustable shox with STANDARD length springs to suit your purpose. In my mind, the best way is to use stock rear springs for your particular model, (whatever that may be, but especially on Toledos) and anything from (your) model specific front springs (softest ride) to uprated but standard length Sprint front springs (for road/track work)

It's a false economy to buy the somewhat cheaper Gaz WITHOUT Adjustable Spring Platforms, as these are how you set ride height exactly where you want it!

This is basically why I didn't answer this sooner, it's like asking how long a piece of string is! I also don't have a 1500TC specific parts list to do part number comparisons with other Dolomite models.
