REAR DOOR WONT OPEN

#1 Post by deano »

Hi Can anyone help,
I removed the rear door from my Dolomite sprint for repair and respray.
I have fitted it back on and now cant open it. It is jammed.
All the handles were removed to do the respray so linkage is visible
Door just wont open
Help

It could just be a slight alignment issue which means the lock has wedged itself on the striker plate, it doesn't take much. Try inserting some form of lever in between the door and the body from inside the car and see if you can encourage it to move.

Hi I have managed to open the door thanks. Inside the lock mech from the inside of the door I pushed a small lever and it opened
Thankyou

I have also recently had the off side rear door on one of my cars repaired using the clubs repair panel so today I added an additional drain hole. Something I would recommend other owners consider doing as they do tend to rot out.
