Rear view mirror mount 3D printing

#1 Post by Aleco »

I know this has been covered previous posts and discussions,
I just wanted to add my thumbs up and gratitude to who ever up loaded the mirror mount design into thingyverse. You are a legend!
I have just 3D printed the design and it works brilliantly!
If you need a new mount 3D printing is definitely the way to go!
Thanks again!

I second the comment made by Alex. The person who developed that design should be shouted several beers for each time the file is downloaded. A big round of applause please for whoever it was.

I passed the thingyverse link onto my geek neighbour who in a matter of minutes produced a new base. It was tight but following his suggestion I soaked the base in boiling water, pushed the mirror stem into place and screwed it up into position. I doubt it will ever fall off.

I have ordered several more so that I can change all the mirror mounts in the fleet.

Thanks Robert

+1 to those comments.

No problem obtaining a mirror, just the easily breakable bases which are unobtainable.
This base is a perfect copy of the original - excellent.

For those of us who don't have either a 3d printer or a geeky neighbour, is anyone actually prepared to sell these? I could do with a handful at least!
