My old Sprint BOE45T - doing ok?

#1 Post by Weeve60 »

Hi, I was a TDC member back in the 90s and 00s and even won Best Non-Original car (I think) at one of the early SODITs with my Carmine Red 79 Sprint, which I owned from 1985 to 2005 and then sold to a guy from Warrington (Rob?).

I was chatting to the folks on the TDC stand at the NEC last weekend and they suggested I post on here to find out how she's doing. Searching on the reg number brings up photos via Google of the car at various shows in the last 10 years or so, and Gov.uk shows she's taxed and that a new V5C was issued in July 2019 which suggests she may have changed hands then. So the signs are good.

I've added a couple of pics from 2004, taken probably 6 to 9 months before I sold her. Anyone know the latest? Not sure if the car is still owned by a TDC member but I hope so.

Hopefully, someone on here will know - so over to you!

Cheers all,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I've still got her, still in excellent condition, kept in a nice warm garage.

Paints still excellent. no deterioration at all anywhere.

Still mainly original, not done anything which can't be reversed only very minor things really. Only needed general maintenance, always runs really well, never let me down

Your right about the V5, it's just that they DVLA change the details when they go to tax exempt.

Relatively low mileage, only use her for local shows over the summer months, so stays protected.

She's well known in the Cheshire branch of the club, as you've seen on Google. Also won a few prizes over the years.

If you'd like to sent me your email, I can always forward some photographs

Cheers

Rob

This is great news Rob - happy to know you are both surviving well!

I've pm'd you with an email address - would be great to see some recent pictures - and I may even have a few to show you such as when the paint was being done!

All the best,

Steve
