Club Track Days 2025

#1 Post by storeyn »

Would you be interested in a Track day in June 2025 at Castle Combe in Wiltshire?

We have the opportunity to have our own weekday session on a Track Day at Castle Combe, we would need a minimum of 10 cars.

This would comprise of 4-5 15 mins track sessions throughout the day. there will be other sessions going on so so probably an hour or so in between sessions.

The on track time is between 9am and 5pm with a 7:30am start for briefing and noise check. (Noise requirements are 87dBa at 4500rpm.)

The base cost would be £200 per vehicle including one driver.

Additional drivers are charged at £25 each, passengers are free.

Helmet hire is available and the opportunity to have some tuition if you wish.

Having done a couple of these they are great fun and no pressure to be of Formula one standard, just an opportunity to get out on track and use the performance of our cars in a controlled environment, ..... oh and have some fun.

If you could use the voting buttons above and if enough interest then I will look into organising the day.

I enjoy watching a good track day, especially if it’s a triumph or classic car day but I can’t see me spending £200 running my 1500 round, only get 3 laps in in 15 mins🤣

I'd fancy it and the price is not offputting. But I don't really have a suitable car on the road ATM. That MAY change by June.

Those i've attended at Castle Coombe run by the TR Register ran 4 x 12 car sessions per hour, so you got 15 mins of track time in every hour. And maybe 6 hours available. So everyone gets about 1.5 hours minimum track time. I used to get around 8 laps per 15 minute session as a rough guide. If you are running an event with a lot less vehicles you would be looking at more or less an open pit lane. Which is what usually happened towards the end of the day at the TR register events as people went home or broke their cars.

I'm interested but it wouldn't be in a club car, the Toledo would not enjoy a track. But if it would be permitted to bring a slightly exotic non-classic car I would come. No problems if not allowed and I would perfectly understand. Or possibly maybe the Stag.

I would love to do a track day but my car is in several pieces at the moment with no guarantee of it being back on the road by then.🙄

Being realistic about the situation, it would probably have to be later in the year, or even next year, for me. I hope you get enough interest this year to make it happen though, and possibly become a regular thing 🤞🏻👍🏻

Thank you for all the responses so far

There are other dates at Castle Combe later in the year and some other venues available too

Although Combe seems to be the cheapest at the moment.

We currently have 7 yeses on the vote, for those wanting to go on the day in June could you PM me or drop me a mail on the spares email please... spares@triumphdolomiteclub.com

Other vehicles would be accepted, my personal preference would always be a dolomite or dolomite based car but to get the event going then open to other options... as I am hoping we can do these regularly (assuming I don't break my car)

Morning All

Unfortunately we haven't had sufficient interest to secure a club session at one of the possible track day dates. We can still however still book as an individual driver on the dates that were proposed, this would mean we wouldn't necessarily be on the track at the same time.

I have listed the date options below with a link to the website, if anyone is interested in going on one of these dates can you let me know please either by PM or on the spares email please so we can coordinate which date we select.

Castle Combe with MG's on track on the 2nd June 2025 - https://www.mgs-on-track.com/ViewEvents.aspx - note this is not yet open for booking - £200 per car with one driver.

Castle Combe with MG's on track on the 2nd September 2025 - https://www.mgs-on-track.com/ViewEvents.aspx - note this is not yet open for booking and if not enough interest (from the wider audience) this event may not take place

Castle Combe with the TR register on the 10th April - https://www.tr-register.co.uk/event/202 ... stle-Combe - this is open for booking - £200 per car with one driver. - unfortunately I won't be able to drive at this event as only back from China the day before, but I will be there to spectate and support if this is the chosen date.

We can also just book a day directly with castle combe, they run throughout the year

https://www.trackdays.co.uk/tracks/cast ... gJflPD_BwE

The price of the castle combe days booked directly with them are £249 per car with one driver, the only thing to note with the castle combe days if the day is before a race weekend then a lot of the race day participants will use the track day as a practice.

Helmet hire and tuition are available at each event, passengers and additional drivers are a small extra cost.

We could also select another track, Thruxton, Silverstone, Brands Hatch or Goodwood if the dates or locations above are not suitable.

Hi All,

A friend of mine has contacted me about an event run by MG's on Track, this was going to be solely for MG owners but they have not had enough takers so they are opening it up to like minded enthusiasts with similar age cars. I am told they have 10 spaces available.

The event is on 17th March at Silverstone & uses the Full GP circuit.

Cost is £290 per car with one driver which apparently is very good for the full GP circuit.

If you are interested please contact Dave Pearce d.pearce@nemco.co.uk He runs the MG on Track trackdays for the MGCC. As I am not sure you can book direct if you are not a member. Not sure yet whether I will be doing this event or not.

Thanks

Tony

Hi Tony and all

If you follow the links on my post you can also book the event at Silverstone.

I did contact Dave at MG’s on track and said they had spaces available, worth noting though the T&C’s of the Silverstone event is that you must have some track experience, first timers are not allowed.

Thanks
