Jubilee style clips are rubbish aren’t they - even the posh branded ones seem to eventually cause leaks in my experience.
What does everyone use for hose clamps? Modern cars use a style which looks like it’d be better for clamping the entire surface of the hose, not just most of it.
Don’t really want to AN convert the whole of the car but I guess that sort of thing is the “ultimate” solution.
Maybe it’s just my clamping surface that’s the issue…

Hose clamps

Hmmm....
Yeah the quality of many is shocking.
However there is a British manufacturer still making quality hose clips, namely JCS.
This is what I use. You pay for what you get.
Thanks
Ian

Re: Hose clamps
JCS clips are quite good, but I prefer the Norma ones. These have rolled edges so that they don't dig into the hose, plus an offset thread that partly counteracts the torque when tightening.
As for eventually causing leaks, this is a function of the hose material itself. The rubber flows away from the clip over time. It gets worse if over-tightened.

Re: Hose clamps
Do you mean for fuel hoses?
If so I don't get any issues with the proper fuel hose clips (jubillee type are useless on small hoses) and that includes a car with a home-brew EFI setup and fuel pressure regulated to 3.5bar.

Re: Hose clamps
I agree. Worm-drive hose clips are intended for relatively low pressures. I would use them only on coolant hoses.
