After 10 or so years of non sprint alloys on my car - I've decided to give the std wheels another go.
The set on the car were not too bad, and when I took them off, stored them in wheel bags so they haven't really deteriorated over the years. The odd bit of corrosion and very very dull.
Thought I'd give polishing one a go this afternoon. So dug these out of the garage......

....I'd bought them a couple of years ago (probably 10!) whilst on a trip to Canada, and hadn't used them. They are brilliant. Could only find an old tube of autosol to use with them, and the wheel rim has come up like a new pin.
Absolutely amazed after about 15 mins with an old drill, how good the wheel looks. In the dim and distant past I'd spend hours with a cloth and autosol trying to keep my old sprint(s) wheels looking presentable and in the process, inevitably lose my fingerprints! If only I'd had one of these attachments back then.
I know they're a bit pricey (i think i paid $20 each for mine) but if you are struggling keeping your sprint wheels looking shiny - give them a go. Thoroughly recommend them, make a tiresome job, really quick and dead easy to do. I'll post some before and after photos if I get the chance (remember)
The tyres on my wheels have very little wear, but even though they look brand new will need a change - the dot code is 2606, so they can legally drink. Now need to decide if I stay with the std 175/70 or go up to 185/60

Re: Polishing Sprint Alloys
I've been using the Mothers Mag and Aluminium Polish with good results, so now I am going to have to try these tools... I usually spend hours shining them up only to turn away for 5 minutes and they're dull again

Re: Polishing Sprint Alloys
This was after 10-15 mins yesterday with the mini power ball - if that. I think you'll agree the finish looks great for the limited time taken so far.
Going to have a go at the others tomorrow.
I've been watching a few YouTube videos on metal polish today and they seem to suggest that autosol is a good compromise for both cut and finish of the metal surface. So will continue with that.
Now really need to decide which wheels to put on!
