For what it is worth the TriumphTune Performance Manual says you can take 3 pounds off the flywheel. But it doesn't give a weight.

Flywheel Weight

As has already been stated, standard flywheel is 10kg, I think the homolgated weight was 9.95kg.

We have used 8.5kg and 6.5kg flywheels. The lighter flywheel does help the motor to spin up faster. We have just had some steel flywheels made which weigh just under 5kg, which will be fitted for next years race season to see if makes any difference in performance.

:smitten:

I wish there was dribbling smiley!

Mine had been previously lightened in the early 90's when the car was first worked on by the p/o. Mark Fields srint engine in his old TR7 did seem to rev more freely than mine and he had a custom flywheel in that so it is probably worth doing. Properly though I might add (as Sprintparts have obviously done)! I'd quite like the use of my legs for a bit longer!
