1300 dolomite head gasket

hi
just became a new member. i just inherited my fathers 66 herald convertible with head gasket gone but after a lot of head scratching i have discovered it has a 1300 dolomite engine 76-80. is it normal that the top of the 4 cylinder pots are recessed. just ordered 3rd gasket.

later 1300 engines are recessed and you need the recessed gasket.
